How to Track Your Period and Symptoms With AI Chat

You can track your period with ChatGPT or Claude by telling it when your period starts and how you feel: “period started this morning, cramps are bad”. On its own, the chat forgets. Connect Dashly and each entry is kept with its date and your symptoms, on a wall only you can see, next to your mood, sleep and energy.

Why tracking your cycle in a chat is appealing

Many people already talk to an assistant about how they feel. It is a natural place to say “I’m exhausted and my back hurts, is that normal on day two?” and get a thoughtful answer. What it does not do is keep the record. Next month, the chat does not know when your last period started or what you felt then.

Dedicated period apps keep the record but make you fill in their screens, and they live apart from everything else you track. Logging through your assistant gives you both: the conversation and the record.

Logging day one and your symptoms

Tell your assistant once that you want to track your cycle, and it sets up a topic in Dashly. After that, say it as it happens. “Period started today, light cramps” logs the start with your symptoms as a note. “Headache and low energy” on day three gets logged too. If you also track mood, a line like “feeling flat, maybe a 2” updates your mood tile at the same time.

You can keep symptoms as notes, which is the quickest, or give the ones you care about their own topic. A headache topic, for example, counts how many days you had one each month and draws it on a tile.

Your cycle over months

Every entry keeps its date. Open the cycle topic in Dashly and you see when each period started and what you noted around it, month after month. Ask your assistant “when did my last three periods start?” and it reads them from Dashly.

Over a few months, patterns show up that are hard to see from memory: the days your energy drops, the week your sleep gets worse, how your mood moves across the cycle. Because those topics sit on the same wall, you see them together without exporting anything.

Private by default

Your cycle is some of the most personal data you can track, so it should stay yours.

In Dashly, your Home dashboard is only ever visible to you. You can make other dashboards for a shared screen, for example a family wall with chores and a step challenge on the kitchen TV, but your cycle is never on one unless you put it there yourself. A screen shows only that dashboard, and it cannot open your topics or read your entries.

Why one wall beats a separate app

A period app knows your cycle. Your mood app knows your mood. Your sleep, your workouts and what you eat are somewhere else again. Each one is fine alone, and none of them shows you how the pieces fit.

With your assistant logging to Dashly, everything you mention lands on one wall, each topic as its own tile. You get the record a period app keeps, plus the context around it, from conversations you were going to have anyway. The period tracker page shows a cycle tile beside mood.

How to start

  1. Connect Dashly to Claude with the Claude guide, or to ChatGPT.
  2. Say “track my cycle, and my mood on a 1 to 5 scale”.
  3. Mention day one and how you feel when it comes.

After two or three cycles, the dates and notes start to show your own pattern.

Questions

  • Can I track my period with ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes, with Dashly connected. Tell your assistant when your period starts and how you feel, and Dashly keeps each entry by date on your own wall.

  • Can I log symptoms like cramps or headaches?

Yes. Mention them and they are kept as notes on the entry, or give a symptom its own topic if you want it counted and charted.

  • Who can see my cycle data?

Only you. Home shows only on your own devices, and a screen showing another dashboard cannot open your topics or entries.

  • Can I see my mood and my cycle together?

Yes. Mood, sleep, energy and your cycle can all sit on the same wall as separate tiles, so you can see how they line up over the month.
